FAQ over 'bijdragen' voor activiteiten
How does paying or receiving a Contribution work?
As a host you can choose to ask for a (small) contribution for your activity. This contribution must be paid by each participant. The Amigos Support team checks whether the activity is correct and transfers the amount to the host afterwards.
As a host, how do I ask for a contribution from the participants?
Tap the ''+'' button at the bottom of the app
Tap Create activity
Go through the steps and tap the toggle next to Mandatory contribution at step 3
Fill in the requested information
Agree to the terms and conditions
Tap Next and complete the steps
Once your activity has been verified, it will appear on the map
The description of your activity states that there is a mandatory contribution
Amigos can tap Join just like 'normal'
Once you have accepted a join request, participants can actually Pay
Under Manage participants and Contributions you can view the status of the (re)payments
Due to ‘buyer protection’, a participant can indicate whether your activity is correct or not, up to 48 hours after the activity has taken place
Within 72 hours of the end of the activity, a Support employee of Amigos will assess the activity and in the event of a 'positive' outcome, the contributions will be paid to you
How can I pay the contribution as a participant?
The description of the activity states whether there is a mandatory contribution
As a participant you can tap Join just like 'normal'
Once the host has accepted the join request, you can actually Pay - or chat with the host first
Once you have paid you will be added to the group chat
Due to ‘buyer protection’, you as a participant can indicate whether the activity is correct or not, up to 48 hours after the activity has taken place
Within 72 hours of the end of the activity, a Support employee of Amigos will review the activity
What if the activity is incorrect?
The Amigos Support team checks whether the activity is actually correct (or not). Is the activity correct? Then the amount is transferred to the host. If it is determined that the activity is incorrect, the participant will immediately receive a refund. This is what we call buyer protection.
Is there some sort of buyer protection?
Yes. Within 72 hours of the end of the activity, a Support employee of Amigos will first assess the activity based on the feedback from the participants. If necessary, further checks will be carried out by the Amigos Support Team. If it is determined that the activity is incorrect, the participant will immediately receive a refund. This is what we call buyer protection.
Can I cancel my participation and get my paid contribution back?
You can cancel your participation, but it is not possible to get a refund of the paid contribution. Amigos is the facilitating platform. The transaction is something between you and the host (seller). If you think the activity was incorrect, you can report this by reporting the activity. If it is determined that your reason is correct, we will refund the money to you.
Is there a maximum contribution per participant?
Yes. The maximum contribution is €50 per participant. There is a minimum amount of €1.
Can I change the amount of the contribution?
The amount of a contribution for an activity can no longer be adjusted after someone has joined and paid the contribution.
What is the transaction and service fee?
The costs charged are €1 per transaction. With this we cover the buyer protection service and the transaction costs.
Share phone number or bank details?
We only ask for your phone number during registration so that we can validate your 'authenticity'. We also ask you once for your bank details (via a '1 cent payment') so that we can pay you. Nothing more. We strongly advise not to exchange phone numbers or bank details with the Buyer or Seller and to let all communication take place within the chat environment of Amigos.
Consumer Law
If you pay the contribution for an activity via the Amigos app, an agreement is concluded between you and the seller. Amigos App is not a party to this agreement.
If you, as a consumer, conclude a contract with a private individual (not a business seller), the rules in the European Union regarding the protection of consumer rights do not apply to that contract. This means that as a consumer you are less well protected if you conclude an agreement with a private individual than with a business seller.
There are, however, certain rights that you always have when you conclude an agreement via the Amigos app as a consumer. For example, you are always entitled to the service offered in the description of the activity.
Would you like more information about your rights as a consumer? Please visit www.consuwijzer.nl for more information.
Amigos App is required by law and regulation to inform its users if they are not protected by EU consumer law. It is not allowed for business sellers to use the app and therefore to ask for a contribution. Based on this information, we inform you that a seller is a private user and you are therefore not protected by EU consumer law.
As a host and seller, where can I see an overview of my contributions?
As a seller, you can view the status of payments received in the Contributions overview in the app. To see this, tap on Manage participants and contributions.
Identity check
Before we pay you as host and seller, we perform an identity check. This check consists of 2 steps:
Pay €0.01 with your IBAN via iDEAL or Bancontact.
Check, complete and confirm your personal data.
In some cases, an additional identity check is required before you get paid. In this case, you as a seller will receive a notification by email. This applies to:
A total volume of more than € 1,500.
If the payment service provider finds it necessary to perform an additional verification.
Who handles the payment transaction?
Pay.nl is the payment service provider.
Pay.nl is licensed by the Dutch Central Bank as a payment service provider and complies with all laws and regulations for processing payments.
In order to check your identity, we share the necessary data (and the IBAN number you have provided) with Pay.nl. This information is only shared with Pay.nl.
